Music for Two Lutes - Rosemary Hodgson & John Griffiths

Poets and princes of old chilled to the sound of the lute. Renaissance monarchs had their own private lutenists. There is hardly anything better for calming the spirit, for refreshing the soul, and for flying to higher spheres.

Grab a glass of something at the bar and relax in our own imaginary lute lounge, listening to music of the 16th-18th centuries by Thomas Robinson, Pierre Phalese, Schiffelholz, Francesco da Milano, Alessandro Piccinini and John Dowland, played to make your heart melt.

FOUNDED IN 2014, MPAVILION IS AUSTRALIA’S LEADING ARCHITECTURE COMMISSION AND DESIGN EVENT.
MPavilion is an initiative of the Naomi Milgrom Foundation, supported by City of Melbourne, State Government of Victoria, through Creative Victoria and ANZ. Every year the Naomi Milgrom Foundation commissions an outstanding architect to design a temporary pavilion for the Queen Victoria Gardens, in the centre of Melbourne’s Southbank Arts Precinct.  A new civic space, a cultural laboratory and an event hub, each MPavilion brings creative collaborators together to present a free, four-month-long program of talks, workshops, performances and installations, and more, from October to February. MPavilion spotlights Melbourne as the creative and design capital of Australia, and with Melbourne as a world renowned leader in liveability, MPavilion continues to foster discussion and debate about the role design, architecture and culture have in creating a city that is liveable, creative and equitable.
